  Hakkoda

  The Hakkoda Mountains have a long snowfall period, and there is 10 m of snow in the mountains. The highlight of this place is the Aomori todomatsu (Maries' fir) which collides with ice and snow and grow into impressively large ice trees known as "Snow Monster". You can also enjoy other alluring seasons such as colored leaves during autumn.

  Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse

  The large and impactful Nebuta (a float of a brave warrior figure), which was actually dispatched in the Nebuta Festival, is put on permanent display. This is also where the history and charm of the Nebuta is introduced to visitors and they can experience the Nebuta festivities all year round with the "Nebuta Hayashi Live Performance & Haneto Dance Experience Show".

  Special Historical Site Sannai Maruyama Archaeological Site

  Being the largest settlement in Japan during the Jomon period (about 5900 to 4200 years ago), it features pit buildings and massive pillar-supported buildings. This is where visitors can experience the landscape characteristic of the Jomon period. The site aims to be registered as a World Cultural Heritage in 2021.
