Hanamaki City is located in the center of Iwate Prefecture, and is famous for the western part of the city, which is home to the Hanamaki Hot Spring Village that is located along the valleys of the Ou Mountains. It is also known as the birthplace of the world-famous writer Kenji Miyazawa, as well as the birthplace of the famous Wanko soba of Iwate Prefecture.

Ohasama, Hanamaki City, has little precipitation and the temperature difference between day and night is high. The conditions are suitable for grape making and an ideal place for wine making. There are wine factory tours and free tasting corners available.
About a 45-minute bus ride from Morioka Bus Center to Ohasama Bus Terminal. After alighting the bus, walk for 15 minutes.

About 2 minutes by bus from JR Shin Hanamaki Station. About 17 minutes from JR Hanamaki Station. Alight at bus stop “Kenji kinenkan-guchi” on Tsuchizawa Line and walk for 5 minutes.
For more than 500 years, Hayachine Kagura has been performed by Shugen Yamabushi. Kagura is song-dance performed to dedicate to God in rituals. The performance is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
About 30 minutes by bus from Ishidoriya Station on the Tohoku Main Line. About 25 minutes by car from Shin-Hanamaki Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen.
