Shinjo City is a town with a long history that has been thriving from bustling activity involving the transportation of goods by boat along the Mogami River. The Shinjo Festival, which is held in summer, is registered under UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage as a "Yama, Hoko, and Yatai float festivals" in Japan. It is also famous as the hometown of Mr. Yoshihiro Togashi, who is known as the author of "HUNTER x HUNTER" and "Yu Yu Hakusho". "

Shinjo Castle Ruins, which was first built about 395 years ago. At present, the moat and stone wall of that time is left with, Tozawa Shrine, Tenmangu Shrine and Gokoku Shrine still used for enshrinement and is now a place for citizens to relax as Mogami Park.
